Come and explore an immersive space – London, October 2nd.

We’re throwing open the doors to one of our newest installations and you’re invited to come along and see how an immersive space could dramatically impact teaching and learning at your school.

We’ve transformed Woodcroft Primary School’s main hall with giant projection, LED lighting and surround sound to create a space that can become anywhere! Our team will be on hand to answer your questions and guide you through using our software, 4D create.

You’ll be able to see how the space can instantly change from the rainforest to the trenches of WW1 or become a calming sensory space for one on one discussions. We’ll also show you how quick and simple it is to upload your own content to create bespoke, unique immersive environments.

Our immersive spaces are creative classrooms designed to help pupils engage with their learning and develop new ways of thinking.

4D Pop Up showcase – 18th September

4D Pop UP

4D creative are pleased to announce an afternoon showcase of 4D Pop Up at MediaCityUK, Salford.

4D Pop Up is an instant immersive space – a creative pop up structure that sets up in minutes and can take you anywhere imaginable! A complete package of Wireless LED Lighting, large scale projection and a Bose sound system are all triggered from the iPad to create any scenario imaginable inside the self inflating pod.

Pupil led learning at Manchester Communication Academy

Our third case study video takes us to Manchester Communication Academy. Staff and students showcased some fantastic examples on how immersive learning can have a massive impact on pupils at secondary level.

We installed an immersive space at the Academy in July 2011 and since then it’s been used right across the curriculum.

If you’ve been following our recent project with the Academy, you will know that we’ve been working with pupils to create their own immersive content. Photos have been edited, videos cut and soundtracks created as the students responded to a brief set to them. It was fantastic to be involved in such a pupil led and empowering scheme of work that was such a success, it has been added to the school’s ICT curriculum.

Outstanding immersive lessons from Harwood Meadows Primary School

The second in our series of our immersive learning in action videos was shot at Harwood Meadows Primary School in Bolton.

Our space at at the school was completed in September 2011 and we’ve been blown away by how the staff have embraced immersive learning ever since. It was great to capture some of this work and chat to the ever friendly teaching staff and pupils. Click to watch below now!

Inspiring immersive learning at Hebden Green School.

We recently spent time visiting some of our schools to see the fantastic ways they are using their immersive spaces. We observed lessons and spoke with staff and pupils to hear how the space has impacted on the whole school. It was a very inspiring few days and we took our friends from Visual Collective along to capture what we saw.

First up was Hebden Green School in Winsford. The school provides for around 100 pupils aged 2 – 19 years who have physical and medical difficulties. Many of the pupils have associated learning difficulties and sensory impairments.

4D installed an immersive space at Hebden Green in 2011 and it’s been fantastic to see the new and dynamic ways the school have been inspiring and engaging their pupils. Find out more in the 3 minute video below.

4D Exchange – 11th July

4D Exchange is designed to help our network of schools get the most from their immersive spaces.

We know that our immersive environments work best with a passionate and inspired staff and we hope that 4D exchange can help practitioners find new ideas and best practices to take back to their own settings.

This is also a great time to ask questions to the 4D staff and other teachers working in an immersive environment.

Agenda

Get inspired! A handful of our schools will share outstanding lessons they have run in their immersive space and the outcomes of these. This will include a wide range of lessons from developing content to core curriculum themes.

Highspots & Hotspots. An open discussion for the group to share ideas, content and best practices. Discuss areas where your space could be working better with other practitioners and the 4D team. Bring a pen drive full of your favourite immersive content to share with others!

Further support and training. Meet your school’s relationship managers and find out how they are working to help you get the best from your immersive space.

In the coming weeks we’re throwing open the doors to one of our newest spaces and we want you to come and explore!

We’ve transformed Worsbrough Common’s main school hall with giant projection, LED lighting, surround sound and an interactive floor.

This is the best way to really experience and understand what our spaces are all about. You can use our software, 4D create, to dramatically transform the room in an instant. You can also see the features our design team create to take all 4D installs to the next level! Our team will be on hand to answer any questions and we will also have the 4D Pop Up available to view.

4D Pop Up at Liverpool Light Night

Last week, we took the 4D Pop Up to the spectacular Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool for an evening of storytelling.

The event, part of Liverpool Light Night, involved our teaching and learning associate Gav inviting visitors into the 4D Pop Up to be immersed in a story and surrounded by light, sound and projection.

4D Pop Up set the perfect scene for Gav’s story accompanied by images of the local area and the Cathedral.

We were lucky enough to spend our whole evening in the Cathedral and took lots of photos which you can explore below. It’s also been great to see some reviews coming in already which you can read here.
